The programme of the Master in Space Technology consists of 60 ECTS

Module 1. Fundamentals (16 ECTS)

  • Fundamentals of Mechanical and Thermal Engineering for Spacecraft Design. Part I. (2.5 ECTS)
  • Fundamentals of Satellite Communication Systems. (2.5 ECTS)
  • Fundamentals of Mechanical and Thermal Engineering for Spacecraft Design. Part II. (2.5 ECTS)
  • Electronics in Space. (2.5 ECTS)
  • Space Software Engineering and Real Time Embedded Software. (2.5 ECTS)
  • Digital Signal and Image Processing for Space Systems. (2.5 ECTS)
  • Microwave and Antenna Engineering for Space Systems. (2.5 ECTS)
  • Orbital Mechanics and Attitude Dinamics. (2.5 ECTS)

 

Module 2. Space Systems Engineering and Project Management (26 ECTS)
  • Space Systems Engineering. (8 ECTS)
  • Mission Analysis and Design. (4 ECTS)
  • Space Project Management. (3 ECTS)
  • Ground Segment and Space Operations. (5 ECTS)
  • Space Project. (6 ECTS)

 

Module 3. Applications (12 ECTS)
  • Telecommunication Satellites. (4 ECTS)
  • Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). (4 ECTS)
  • Remote Sensing. (4 ECTS)
  • Scientific Missions and Instrumentation . (4 ECTS)

 

SEMINARS AND CONFERENCES
  • ESA Education Week: several specialists from the ESA will present during a week the main and latest programs and areas of study.

  • Specialist from companies in the space sector will give Conferences and Seminars in which they will present issues related to the subjects.

 

END OF MASTER PROJECT (6 ECTS)

 

METHODOLOGY
  • The contents will be imparted combining master classes, practical lessons and seminars given by experts.

  • All the documentation will be provided in English.

  • Students will have the chance of developing a space project as a team work following the methodology and stages of a real mission.

  • Access to libraries in ETSIT and ETSIAero, as well as Wifi connection.

  • Visits to companies of the Spanish space sector and ESA centres.
